For the Fourth of July, we went to my dad’s house for a BBQ. The little children had a water fight with water guns, water balloons, buckets and finally hoses. My DD2 wouldn’t let her daddy out of her sight. She stuck close to him almost the whole time. Most of my dad’s children came. We missed one grandson and his wife. My brother and his family didn’t come but no one was surprised by this. Its just sad. The rest of us had fun and enjoyed each others company. Its interesting to note that the Declaration of Independence was signed by two people on the second of July and was read by many cities on the fourth. The next year, the new government decided to celebrate the declaration from England. The decision to have a celebration was made on the second so they planned it for the fourth. It has been celebrated on July 4th ever since.
